As a John L. Scott broker, my mission is transactional excellence and client satisfaction. That means I work tirelessly to make your home buying or selling process as efficient, stress-free and lucrative for you as possible.
I grew up in the greater Seattle area and earned my bachelor’s degree in communication with a minor in business management from Washington State University (go Cougs!). Prior to starting my real estate career, my professional background included working as a TV news producer and I also worked in human resources and operations management. I also was the owner/operator or a local floral design studio for 13 years, where I had the privilege of working with hundreds of local couples designing their wedding flowers.
While my professional background is diverse, the common thread has always been working with people, which is something I truly love. After a lifelong interest in all aspects of real estate, I got my license to practice real estate in 2017. I’m currently based out of John L. Scott’s Bellingham office, and often help clients in Bellingham, Ferndale, Lynden, Everson, Blaine, Burlington, Sedro Woolley and Mount Vernon.
I work with a range of clients, including first-time home buyers, people looking to scale up or downsize and those relocating to or from the local area. I also am personally involved in investment properties and have several clients who are working on building their investment portfolios. Another area I’m knowledgeable in is lakefront properties, as I live on Lake Samish and know firsthand what is involved in owning a property on a lake.
Regardless of your situation, you can rest assured that you’ll receive a top-notch real estate experience with me. My prompt, clear communication throughout the process of selling or buying and my attention to detail are two areas that set me apart from others. I like to have frequent and open lines of communication with my clients, and always want my clients to feel like they are my top priority!
My hobbies include reading, cooking & baking, traveling and spending time with my family and friends. I also like spending time outdoors – be it walking, hiking, gardening or just relaxing on a sunny day. Another passion of mine is donating my time and money to causes and local organizations that are important to me, including the Seattle Children’s Hospital, Lydia Place and the Dave Nelson Memorial Foundation.
Bellingham is a lot of things. A college town. The northernmost city in the contiguous United States. A mid-point between Seattle and Vancouver, BC. A beer lover’s paradise. But more than anything it is, hands down, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Views from Bellingham include Mt. Baker and the Cascades, Bellingham Bay and the tree-lined San Juan Islands. The water of Bellingham Bay provides opportunities for boating, kayaking, fishing, paddleboarding, and viewing the spectacular craggy, coastline. And with Mt. Baker at our doorstep, winter sports like skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing are moments away. The city is great for bicyclists. With more than 60 miles of bike lanes on the roads and almost 70 miles of trails, getting on your bike for a jaunt is both easy and picturesque. The trails are great for an afternoon stroll or longer hike too. Bellingham has long been a gathering place for creatives. Artists from the literary, theater, musical and visual arts make up a vibrant scene that attracts both residents and visitors. Seattle is 90 miles to the south, and Vancouver is about 50 miles to the north, which means those arts and cultural centers are just a drive away as well. If you’d like to learn more about Bellingham, let us know. We’d love to show you around and help you find your perfect home.
"I can’t say enough about how much I loved working with Kate. The Bellingham market was on fire and as buyers this was a very intimidating time. Kate made this process smooth, and even fun for us. She always knew when a new house popped up on the market and matched our excitement to show it to us. She was extremely knowledgeable on neighborhoods and gave us honest feedback when we needed it to see the bigger picture. Kate is very attentive, detail oriented, and I’m pretty sure she has a clone because she can get so much done. Buying a home with Kate was the best decision we could have made and I highly recommend her to anyone looking to purchase a home.”—

“Kate has an incredible way of making the stressful parts of buying a home fun and painless. She has an incredible knack for communicating with both sellers and buyers so that everyone feels great about the deal, and every detail is covered. She put our needs first and offered extremely valuable and thoughtful advice when we needed it. I could not recommend Kate enough. She is a dream to work with and she truly made OUR dreams come true!”

“Kate was an excellent example of a listing agent! She was professional and conducted listing meetings online as we had the COVID-19 situation going on, plus I was needing to sell a home in Bellingham where I did not live. She has plenty of resources to help get your home in condition to sell. And communicated well throughout the process. I will refer her to anyone needing to do business in Bellingham!”
